Postcard sent before the Artist and Community Gathering
The American Festival Project kicked off its innovative Artist and Community Gathering with a call-in program on WMMT, Whitesburg, Kentucky. It was an interesting blend of grassroots community radio; traditional FM radio technology and the Internet. A group of youth from the region gathered in the studio to discuss local issues while FM listeners called in to express their opinions. Meanwhile the entire program was broadcast globally on the internet and these listeners were invited to call in on an 800 number. Neat, eh ?;)>
